My wife is wanting to catch up on some of her TV shows and I’ve got them on my PC as MKV files. She’d rather not sit in my office at the computer desk and watch so I’m trying to figure out how I can easily transfer them to her Amazon Fire 7 to watch at her leisure. When I tried, these files in MKV are not supported by Fire 7. I’m looking for a workaround to transfer and view MKV files on Amazon Fire 7 easily. Now 2 ways shared below.
Method 1. Using 3rd-party video player like MX Player
Since the Fire 7 built-in video player can’t play MKV files. You can get a 3rd-party video player. MX Player has long been one of the most popular video player apps. It supported more formats long before other video player apps thought to do so and was also among the first to include things like hardware decoding, hardware accelerated playback, and other such features. It still has all of those things along with gesture controls (including pinch-to-zoom), subtitle support, a kids lock to keep your kids in the app watching their Disney movies, and it supports virtually every codec out there.
Method 2. Convert MKV to Amazon Fire 7 more friendly format
If you’re facing problems playback the MKV video files on Amazon Fire 7 using MX player or others, you can use method 2 to convert MKV to Fire 7 more friendly format H.264 MP4. To begin, first download Brorsoft Video Converter (or the Mac version.)
